For samples:For the quantitative determination of endogenic rabbit corticosterone (CORT) concentrations in serum, plasma and tissue homogenates.
PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to CORT. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Biotin-conjugated CORT. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between CORT (Standards or samples) and Biotin-conjugated CORT with the pre-coated antibody specific for CORT. The more amount of CORT in samples, the less antibody bound by Biotin-conjugated CORT. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of CORT in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured
